Don and Carol Poe – Intrigued by partnership with Case Western Reserve University
“We’re
professional spectators,” laugh Don and Carol Poe, future South Franklin
Circle residents. With 14 grandchildren nearby, they are constantly attending
sporting events and concerts — even bagpipe performances. “Carol’s
father was born in Scotland,” explains Don.
Don and Carol chose South Franklin Circle because it offers the best
of both worlds. They will remain close to family, their church, and the neighborhood
they’ve called home for 40 years. Everything is familiar, including
their future neighbors. “Many of our friends will join us at South Franklin,” says
“It was great seeing familiar faces at a recent luncheon.”
But they’re also excited about new opportunities. “We’re
intrigued by the partnership with Case Western Reserve University,” says
Don. “It will keep us up-to-date on the latest technology, plus connected
to continuing education and other cultural activities the University Circle
area offers. South Franklin’s link to Judson, a well known, well run
organization, is also a plus.”
The Poe’s have always been planners. Together in 1961 they founded Cleveland
Vicon, which provides doors, frames and hardware supplies for commercial buildings.
They still work for the company that has grown to nearly 50 employees.
But it’s not all work for Don and Carol. They enjoy tennis, golf, the
company of their golden retriever, Dickens, and spending time at their second
home in Chautauqua, New York.
“
As we get to know our new neighbors and the staff at South Franklin
Circle, the more excited we are about what the future holds,” says Carol. “We’re
hooked!”
